Simon Jansen

Simon discovered his love for the outdoors in his teens and traveled around the world on a search for a place to settle down. Newfoundland inspired him profoundly with it's spectacular natural beauty and overwhelming hospitality and it provides the perfect playground for his passions for rock climbing, kayaking, hiking, canoeing, camping and anything involving snow.

Simon has worked as a professional guide for 10 years. He freelances for other companies throughout the year and started Pure Adventures, a small adventure outfitter that focuses on kayak courses and instructional sessions. He specializes on multi day trips with a focus on low impact traveling.

Today Simon teaches and guides mainly sea kayaking during the summer months.He volunteers a lot of his time for the local environmental group, and teaches math, physics and biology to high school kids during the off season.
